Congratulation messages - 30th June 2010

There's always one advantage in covering Sandy's trips - I get to be the first to congratulate him on his success! Only this time it's not just Sandy, but Gilly too, and a brilliant end of trip journey of nearly 400km by Jo, Ian, Evie and Ewen (though not sure how much the last two actually helped with the peddling). So here it is, you've done it again. CONGRATULATIONS! Have a great few days break in the hotel, and a safe trip home via train and ferry. My ferry back home is not till a week after yours, but no doubt we'll catch up sometime after then. Brilliant stuff dear friends, brilliant!  [Colin]

Dammmm - NO MERMAID?! I’d demand your money back. Actually she’s tiny - we had trouble spotting her from the boat - may have had something to do with a generous sampling of Akavit from our Dansk hosts. Congrats on reaching journey’s end - although I know your inclination, Sandy, will be to keep on pedalling and following your nose to wherever it leads! Glad to hear you found the “Reker Ost” Sandy - surely you LOVE it Gilly! After yak fat and God knows what in the Himalaya, it should be a delicacy. Also good to hear you’ve got little Evie started on her Viking training, chucking the poor mite into the Baltic Sea; and salving your conscience with the notion that it’s “luke warm”.  Only a true Viking could think that - so she must be one! Safe travels home.  Big salaams [Pat]

Many congratulations to all of you. Regards, [Colin / Julie Hildalgo]

Good work to everyone. You must be very pleased. Maybe you should all be treated to a nice Danish bacon sandwich (apart from Jo who should have something veggie [Richard Simpson]

TAS & Mrs T, Congratulations! You deserve a good Danish beer or two, they don't do wine I recall! Lots of love and safe home. [Dan & Chris]

Congratulations, Well done everyone!  [Martine xx]

Well done you guys! Love from [Mick and Sabina]

Well Well. I was at the BMW Golf championship at Wentworth and found a beautiful bolt which would probably have done the job right proper. The probability is that the bolt came out of one of those buggies they use for the roving camera men. Obviously because it was such a clean bolt the nut must have come adrift but I bet they wished they had a tent peg when things went belly up. Give us a call when you are on the way home. Mum was fine this weekend but she is so frail and her mind is drifting. Tell you about it next week. Chris is there this weekend 3rd July by the way. [John Precey]

Well done. All the best. [Paul Lang x]

CONGRATULATIONS from Sunny suffolk! [Hannah Constable]

Hi Sandy and Gill, Congratulations!!!!! Well done to you both and to Jo and Ian… I think you are all wonders it sounds as if you had a wonderful time I loved getting your update emails it has made my summer reading them, thanks very much. Lots of love to you all [Gill Precey xxx]

Gilly & Sandy, Well done! Congratulations on finishing what sounds like an epic journey. Have enjoyed the updates - they really made me laugh. Safe journey home. Regards [Mike Barkas]

Dear Gill & Sandy, Perforce this will be a brief note just to say a hearty well done to the pair of you - and to Jo & Ian for their bit.  I trust when we eventually join the ranks of grandparents we can do equally adventurous things. We are sans Internet connection at home at present and this is being typed out hurriedly in our local library facility.  Hence the brevity.  I will visit the website to make good our promised sponsorship and hope that your efforts go some way to getting Martin his Boma. Whilst you have been gallivanting around Germany and Denmark, Margie and I strolled around Anglesey and then up Snowdon just for old times sake.  We saw Lynne and Peter a couple of times but they were away in Portugal for most of the time. Also, in the meantime, we have acquired a Hearing Dog Puppy to 'socialise' prior to its full time training.  He is Wilson, a 13 week old Golden Retriever, and he has taken over our lives completely.  Still, the clearing up of random rear end malfunctions and the making safe of house and garden should be good ground work for grandkids. Will call you for a chat when you are back. Well done again! Love and best Salaams, [Margie & Stuart]

TAS, What a brilliant and amazing achievement. At 0730 I got off my bike after cycling the 10 miles there and back to Bournemouth pier! And I felt quite good - you see, your influence is spreading! Happy home coming to you both. See you later in the year but will keep in touch. Love to all, [Dan and Chris]

Congratulations the Simpson Clan! What players you are! Shame about the little mermaid but maybe you're developing your own real one in Evie! Safe return to all, [Chris and Dan]

Hi Sandy and Gilly, Congratulations! We´ve enjoyed reading about your exploits, what a feat especially with all the weather that you had to go through and the wind too that must get quite tiring but what an experience.
I will be writing to you with dates for NZ and a cheque for Martin. It´s been hectic here getting ready for the season - we have people arriving today. Seemed a lot to do this year for some reason. Will be intouch, All the best [Maggie]

Well done Sandy and Gilly, Look forward to seeing you on your return !! [Tim Carter]

MANY CONGRATULATIONS TO THE HAPPY WANDERERS !! WHAT A MAMMOTH EFFORT, AND MANY THANKS FOR ALL THE INTERESTING UPDATES. I EXPECT YOU'LL BE PLEASED TO GET HOME NOW. LOVE [GRETL X]

Yay! Good work!! xxx [Katherine Dyer]
