Dress

The form of dress worn depends largely on the event but you can request any specific dress code desired.

No.1 Uniform

Black tie

No.1 Uniform is particularly suited to weddings, funerals and other stately occasions. It consists of a full military uniform consisting of doublet, full plaid, feather bonnet, cross belt, kilt, dirk, horse-hair sporran, tartan hose, sguin dhu, white spats and brogues.

Day wear is ideal for any reasonably low key event held during the day or evening, particularly birthday parties, luncheons, and other similar celebrations. It consists of an Argyle jacket with tie, glengarry, belted kilt, day sporran, white or coloured hose, sguin dhu and ghillie brogues.

"Black Tie" is for more formal evening engagements. Burn's and St.Andrew's Dinners are prime examples. It consists of a Prince Charlie jacket with waistcoat, black bow-tie, glengarry, kilt, dress sporran, white hose, sguin dhu and ghillie brogues.

Ceileidh or casual wear is, well, just about anything. Generally speaking there will be a belted kilt, day sporran, white or coloured hose, sguin dhu and ghillie brogues. The picture opposite shows a white Culloden shirt worn beneath a black leather Lowlander waistcoat. Headwear is not normally worn.
