Pipe Major Colin Opie is currently Pipe Major of The City of Exeter Pipes and Drums. Apart from information about Colin and booking him for private engagements, you will also find links to the Exeter band, and also another professional band called "Jiggery Pipery".

In some way or another the pipers and bands mentioned on these pages all play together or support each other's engagement commitments. The result is that in using this site for your piper requirements, you can be assured of a professional, guaranteed service specifically designed for your needs.

The City of Exeter Pipes and Drums is the official Pipe Band of the county's capital city. It takes part in over 30 engagements during the year, and is available for hire for weddings, funerals, carnivals, and so on. Individual pipers and drummers can also be hired. The band also has a structured training program for both pipers and drummers, for those who wish to learn to play, and become part of a vibrant band community.

All who have seen Jiggerypipery, over the last five years, have been knocked out by their truly exciting blend of self composed and traditional tunes, arranged into “a top notch display of musical alchemy”. If you want to have a “wild old time” and be enthralled by the dynamic arrangements and skilful renditions of great dance-tunes, then Jiggerypipery are the band for you.
