BAND NEWS Band practices have started with the new format (members - see Jan QCM news). Please arrive prompt for a 7:30pm start for this to be as useful an evening as possible. LOCAL Thanks to a local firm it is possible to look at a weather station on the top of Dartmoor, and also an associated webcam. |

We are a RSPBA registered band playing the Great Scottish Highland Bagpipe with Drums. The tartan of The City of Exeter Pipes & Drums is that of Robertson, and the pipe bag colours as shown in the image on the left. Look out for us in the streets, carnivals and fairs of the South West. We practice at Wyvern Barracks, Exeter every Wednesday between 7:30pm and 9:30pm, and are very grateful to the Devonshire & Dorset Regiment for the use of their facilities. See us at the barracks during their Open Day in August, or contact us for an invitation visit to a practice session if you are interested in joining the band.

This site will introduce you to the activities of the band and the competitions, carnivals and fairs that we take part in. We also maintain a library of tunes that we play and you are welcome to use these tunes for your own use. However we would ask that if you play with another band, you at least check the arrangement with your own Pipe Major before using our arrangement. This is plain courtesy to your Pipe Major who will not look kindly upon you learning a tune in a different way to the rest of the band! |

All our pipers and drummers are volunteers and the band is managed by an elected committee under the rules of the Constitution. We are also always open to receiving new members and once you are at a level suitable for playing with the band, you will be supplied with uniform as appropriate. The band is proud to be the only pipe band officially entitled to bear the Coat of Arms of the City of Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom.
